More "YARN BOMBING"

"Spindle Magazine needs you and your knitting / crochet / macrame / pom pom making skills!

"Graffiti knitting, yarnbombing or yarn bombing or yarnstorming is a type of graffiti or street art that employs colorful displays of knitted or crocheted cloth rather than paint or chalk. While yarn installations may last for years, they are considered non permanent, and, unlike graffiti, can be easily removed if necessary. The practice is believed to have originated in the U.S. with Texas knitters trying to find a creative way to use their leftover and unfinished knitting projects, but it has since spread worldwide." We are planning to get a huge crew together to create a weird, wonderful and HUUUGE knitted graffiti installation! This will take place on Saturday 3rd of April in
Brighton town centre, we need to meet up early 7am (eek!) so our piece will be ready to be viewed by the masses! Although I will give out my mobile number nearer the time so less hardcore yarn bombers can meet up with us later in the day. We need people to prepare in advance pom poms, strips of knit which can be wrapped around structures, hats and scarves which can be put on statues, knitted or crocheted flowers, hearts, animals or whatever you fancy!

We would like everyone, if possible, to come along wearing knitted balaclavas."
